donald newhouse is worth 8.5 billion dollars and counting. at a scrappy 78 years old he apparently does not feel that 8.5 billion dollars will carry him through the rest of his lifetime. i feel fairly certain that 8.5 billion dollars would carry me through more than 8 lifetimes. i tend to be frugal, i admit, but that is still a conservative guess. i would be more inclined to say that i could easily make it through 16 lifetimes on that amount of money. i'm being facetious of course. most of us live on an income between $19,000 and $50,000 according to a 2006 american census. this is what 1 billion dollars numerically looks like 1,000,000,000. i'm not too terribly good in math, but i'm guessing that, with an 8 at the front of it instead of a 1, it would go a long way with a lot of us. many many lifetimes. instead, since none of us were self made inheritors we will have to stick with what we've got. while we're sticking with what we've got let's write to donald newhouse and ask for what we have coming. he owns many many things, including the bayonne times. writing to him and asking for the trickle to begin is only doing what's right.4 Times Square
